FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Subtraq
Eight groups, 40 questions, one short answer each — and a link to the page that goes deeper when needed. If yours is missing, we want to hear it.
The first four, always the same
- Does it work without a pixel?Yes. The link does the work, and nothing is placed on your client’s website.
- What if you go down?Links keep redirecting: they are served by a separate network.
- Is it free?Yes, to start: 2 client workspaces and 10 links per month.
- What about GDPR?Hosted in the European Union, and no IP address written to the database.
They come up in this order, every time. The longer answers are below, group by group.
Jump to: tracking and attribution, links and domains, pricing, data and GDPR.
Tracking and attribution
The core of the product: linking a payment to the placement that produced it, without touching anyone’s website.
What counts as a ‘tracked click’?
How do you know which link made the sale?
Do I need to place a pixel or a script on my site?
What is the difference between attribution and tracking?
What happens if no click matches a sale?
Links and domains
A short link is only valuable if it belongs to you. It is the domain that decides whether it survives when you switch tools.
Can I use my own domain name?
If I switch tools, what happens to my links?
What happens to my links if Subtraq goes down?
Can a link expire, or disappear?
Can I bring over links from another tool?
Integrations
The principle never changes: a Subtraq link in front, your tool behind it, and the sale confirmation coming back. What changes is the path through each interface.
Which tools does Subtraq connect to?
What if my tool isn’t in the list?
Do I need a developer to set this up?
How does a Stripe sale come back?
Does my client need to give me access to their site?
Reports and client workspaces
One workspace per client, genuinely walled off, and a report that leads with the number the client is looking for.
What exactly is a client workspace?
Can my client log in themselves?
Can the report carry my brand instead of yours?
What happens when I lose a client?
Am I notified if a link breaks?
Pricing and the free version
Four counters, each answering a specific objection. Prices are in dollars and don’t change.
What exactly is the free tier limited to?
What does the paid plan include?
What happens if I exceed the counted clicks?
When can I cancel?
Why dollars and not euros?
Your question isn't here?
Write to us at [email protected]: any question asked twice ends up on this page with its answer. And if it calls for a demo rather than a paragraph, the demo runs on fictional data, no account needed.
Open the demoData, GDPR, and security
Most measurement tools have a GDPR problem because they measure people. A short link measures a campaign.
Where is the data hosted?
Do you store IP addresses?
Do we need a checkbox in our cookie banner?
How long does the data live?
Who is responsible for what under GDPR?
What happens if we leave?
API, webhooks, and agents
The MCP server and the API share the same tool registry. What one exposes, the other exposes — never one without the other.
Is there an API?
What is the MCP server, and which agents does it work with?
Can an agent break something?
Can I receive a webhook for each conversion?
Which plan includes the API and MCP?
Account and team
What it takes to get started, who sees what, and the tools Subtraq works alongside instead of replacing.
Do I need to install anything to get started?
Can multiple people work together, and can my client have their own access?
Does Subtraq replace Google Analytics?
Does Subtraq replace Linktree, Bitly, or a shortener?

40 answers are worth less than one month of real data. The free plan is enough to run links for a real client and see, at month end, which one did the work.
Create a free accountFree plan: 2 client workspaces, 10 links per month, 3,000 clicks counted.
