Instagram bio link: track what it earns

On Instagram, the bio link is the one everyone looks at: it’s where you send people from posts, reels, and stories. It deserves more than a URL you swap at every launch without ever knowing what it produced.

See what your bio earns

Three familiar situations

« You update your bio at every launch, and last week’s link is gone along with its clicks. »

« Your link page counts clicks; your accountant counts sales. The two never meet. »

« A story, a reel, and your bio all send to the same place — no way to know which one sold. »

« The bio link belongs to a third-party tool, not you. »

What your bio sold — example

44%

of what you sold came from Instagram — and your bio, stories, and reels each have their own line, because each has its own link.

How a sale traces back to the link

In Subtraq

The bio stays the same. The destination changes.

Instagram allows up to five websites on a profile. One Subtraq link is enough: change its destination without reopening “Edit profile.”

To tell your bio apart from stories, create a second link — also set to the Instagram channel — and the dashboard puts them side by side. When someone asks what your stories brought in, the answer already exists.

How a sale is tracked, without a developer

What you change

The destination, not the bio

The bio link stays the same for months. When the offer changes, you change its destination in Subtraq: the profile is untouched, and the click history continues on the same link.

Three objections

“I already have a link page in my bio.”

Keep it if your bio needs multiple buttons, and put a Subtraq link behind each one: the page distributes, the link measures — down to the sale. They don’t do the same job.

“I change my offer every week.”

That’s exactly the case where a fixed link saves you: you change its destination, not your bio. One link, one line at month’s end, and the history doesn’t reset at each launch.

“An unknown link in my bio drives people away.”

Put your domain on it: link.yourbrand.com/bio, that’s you. And among the five websites the profile accepts, that one is the only one that will tell you what it produced.

Frequently asked questions

How many links can I put in an Instagram bio?

Up to five websites per profile, according to Instagram’s help page recorded on September 11, 2026. You add them in the app, from Edit Profile; the same help page notes that the feature is not available on desktop.

Is a Subtraq link in my bio clickable?

Yes: it’s a standard URL, in the field Instagram provides. Nothing to install, nothing to connect.

Can I tell whether a click came from the bio or a story?

Not with the same link. Create one link for the bio and another for stories: that’s the whole point — one link per place whose return you want to know.

Does Subtraq replace Linktree?

No. Linktree builds a link page; Subtraq builds the link and measures what it brings in. If your bio only needs one destination, one Subtraq link is enough and you keep your domain. If it needs several, keep your page and put our links behind its buttons.

I manage a client’s account: where does the data go?

Into their workspace, separate from all others — their links, their clicks, their sales, their report. You see everything; they see only theirs.

Checked on September 11, 2026 in Instagram help, « Ajouter un site web à votre profil Instagram » — the original page. Platforms change their rules: if what you see no longer matches, the source wins.

Create your bio link

Create the link once, put it in your bio, and change its destination at each new offer. Tracking starts at the first click — it won’t recover yesterday’s launches.
