Free tool
Free QR code generator, no watermark
The code is computed in your browser and never expires — it is a static QR, and a static QR is free forever, with us or with anyone else. The rest of the page explains when that is enough, and when it is not.
Enter an address to generate the code.
The only real question
What if the address changes after printing?
A static QR encodes the address itself: once printed, it is fixed. A QR placed on a short link encodes a door — and the destination behind that door can be edited whenever you want.
That is the whole difference between “dynamic” and “static” — not a matter of technology, a matter of who controls the destination.
Static QR and dynamic QR compared
The market keeps the confusion alive because it sells subscriptions. Here is the clear version.
| Static QR (this tool) | QR on a short link | |
|---|---|---|
| What is encoded | the final address, hard-coded | a short address that redirects |
| Editable after printing | no — it is set in stone | yes — the destination can be edited |
| Counts scans | no | yes, like clicks |
| Can expire | never | as long as the link lives — and our links don't switch themselves off |
| Cost | free, forever | the cost of the short link |
| Good for | an address that will never move | flyers, posters, menus, packaging |
With several “free dynamic” generators, the free part is a time-limited trial — once it runs out, the code you already printed stops redirecting. Check the “expires” line of your tool before printing anything.
Why black on white
Two rules for a readable QR
A QR in brand colors quickly falls below the contrast a sensor can read in average light. The brand guidelines apply to the card carrying the code, not to the code — that is the rule our product follows, and this tool with it.
As for the white margin: without it, the reader cannot find its bearings. Four modules, the standard's minimum — we do not go below.
Set by default in this tool
Black modules on a white background · a quiet zone of 4 modules all around. These are the two most common mistakes in “branded” QR codes — and a failed QR is discovered after printing, never before.
Frequently asked questions
Why an SVG rather than a PNG?
An SVG is vector-based: it prints from a stamp to a billboard without pixelating. For screen use, any image software turns an SVG into a PNG in one step.
My URL is long and the QR becomes unreadable.
The longer the text, the denser the grid, the larger the print has to be. The real fix is to shorten the address — a short link gives a simpler QR AND an editable one.
Does this tool keep my addresses?
No. The encoding happens in your browser, nothing goes to a server. You can check it: the page works even offline once loaded.
Can I put my logo in the middle?
Error correction sometimes allows it — at the cost of a safety margin that melts away. For a code meant to be printed, we prefer not to offer it: one failed scan across 5,000 flyers costs more than a logo.
Create a dynamic QR code
Create a free short link, put the QR on it: the destination will be editable after printing, and every scan will be counted — all the way to the sale it brings in.
Create a link with a QRThe static generator stays free and account-free — that is deliberate.
