Track your Calendly appointments in three settings

Your calendar is filling up — good. But it doesn't say whether those appointments come from your newsletter, your last post, a referral, or the ad you've been paying for six weeks.

The problem, as it stands

Where each appointment comes from

Without a source, the week reads as a total: twelve appointments. With one, it reads as a decision: nine come from two sources, three from everything else — and you know where to put your time.

This matters most when you sell your time: an appointment isn't a sale, but it always comes before one.

Calendly already offers to send guests elsewhere after they book. Put a Subtraq link there: it counts the appointment, then redirects to the page you had in mind.

Why this is called attribution

Recorded from Calendly's help · 28/08/2026

In Calendly, 3 steps

Three settings per event type

The setup lives in each event type: a discovery call and an annual review can carry two different links and be read separately.

To prepare: a Subtraq link tagged “prospect”, and the URL of the thank-you page you want to keep.

1

From “Scheduling”, open the event type, then “More options” → “Confirmation page”.

2

Under “After booking”, choose “Redirect to an external site”.

3

Paste the Subtraq link, then “Save changes”.

Path checked in Calendly's documentation on August 28, 2026 — the original page. Interfaces change: if what you see no longer matches, the source wins.

Frequently asked questions

Does the guest see anything different?

They see the page you chose, as before. The pass-through is instant and shows no intermediate screen.

Do I have to do this for each event type?

Yes, the setting lives in the event. That's also what lets you separate a discovery call from a client appointment in the report.

Does this replace Calendly's own tracking?

No. Calendly still owns the calendar and reminders; this guide adds the appointment's source, which Calendly doesn't know.

What about cancellations?

A cancelled appointment is still counted as booked: the measurement fires at confirmation. Worth keeping in mind if your cancellation rate is high.

I use Cal.com — is it the same?

The move is the same; the path is different. It's written up in the Cal.com guide, recorded on the same date.

Connect your Calendly

The next appointment booked will tell you what brought it in. That's the only information a full calendar is missing.
