URLR counts visits. We count sales.

URLR shortens links and counts visits ; Subtraq ties the click to the sale. Both are French, hosted in France and GDPR-compliant — but they do not do the same job, and if you are looking for the first, URLR is probably the right choice: this page will tell you.

Each tool's strengths

The further a bar goes left, the more the advantage is Subtraq's. Three bars tilt clearly right, and they matter: URLR allows twice as many links, supports six languages, and has been around much longer.

« URLR does not do attribution. Subtraq does not do six languages. »

The rest of this comparison follows from those two sentences.

Two French toolsTwo different jobsShortening ≠ attribution

Two good tools. Only one counts sales.

Choose URLR if…

you mainly want a clean shortener, under your brand, with visit statistics and QR codes — and you publish in multiple languages. It is a very good product on that ground, well established there, and Subtraq has nothing more to add.

Choose Subtraq if…

the question you are being asked is “how much did it bring in”. One workspace per client, a report under your name they open without an account, and campaign costs imported to calculate ROAS. It is an agency tool, not a shortener with analytics.

What attribution actually means

The difference, in one image

A click counter stops at the click.

URLR will tell you this link got 386 visits. That is correct, that is useful, and many tools stop there.

This screen says something else: this placement brought in $5,654.79, or 30% of the month's attributed revenue. That is the sentence an agency client is waiting for — and it requires tracking the sale, not the visit.

Subtraq's attribution report: attributed revenue by placement, with model selection.

Frequently asked questions

Does URLR track sales?

No. Its pricing page, recorded August 31, 2026, mentions no conversion tracking or revenue attribution. It counts visits to a link — that is its job and it does it well — but it does not tie a click to a payment.

Are both hosted in France?

URLR advertises French hosting and documented GDPR compliance. Subtraq is hosted at Hetzner in Germany — therefore in the European Union — and data stays stored there: no third-party cookies, no data resale. Our publisher is based in the United States, however, and its access to data counts as a transfer under GDPR — this is written in §6 of our privacy policy. If strictly French hosting or a European publisher is a contractual requirement for you, that is a point for URLR.

Can I move my links from URLR?

Yes, via CSV import: export from URLR, load the file, and the links are recreated with their destinations. Past statistics do not transfer — no tool can import another tool's click history. Counters start from zero on the day you switch, with either tool.

Why 1,000 links per month when URLR gives 2,000?

Because the product is not sold on link volume. An agency client rarely has more than a few dozen placements per month; what costs is conversion tracking and journey storage. If your need is to create thousands of links, URLR's pricing is objectively better suited.

The difference is one word

Count

URLR counts visits to a link, and it does that well.

Attribute

Subtraq ties that link to the revenue it generated.

Two jobs, two tools.
