White labelling

White labelling means delivering a report, a link or a tool under the name of whoever sends it rather than the vendor who built it. For an agency, that means its logo, its domain, and no mention of the supplier.

What it is for

It protects the commercial relationship. A report displaying a tool's name teaches the client they could buy it directly — and the agency's analysis work disappears behind the software's name. It also keeps the output consistent when you change tools.

What it really takes

A swapped logo is not enough. You need the domain, the tab title, the link addresses, the error pages, and everything shown when something goes wrong. It is almost always through an error page or a browser tab that the vendor's name comes out.

The classic mistake

Checking the white labelling only on the successful report. The leaks live elsewhere: on a revoked link, on an address that does not exist, in the page source.

What Subtraq does with it

On an agency's domain, nothing reveals Subtraq: that domain serves only the short links and the client's report, and everything else answers 404 rather than a redirect — which would show the product. Three leaks have already been closed: the tab title, the translation dictionary in the source, and the logo on the “revoked link” screen.

A badly placed label cannot be fixed afterwards: the link is already published. The builder writes the address without a syntax error, and the preview shows what the report will make of it.
